Recently, the WeChat public account of the "WeChat Security Center" issued an announcement on the governance of online gambling behavior.
National laws and regulations expressly prohibit the use of the Internet to engage in gambling activities, and online gambling is not only illegal, but also can easily derive malicious behaviors such as fraud, seriously endangering the online ecological environment and harming the rights and interests of users. According to the WeChat Security Center, the WeChat platform has always maintained a zero-tolerance attitude towards online gambling activities, strictly abiding by relevant national laws and regulations, as well as platform rules such as the "Tencent WeChat Software License and Service Agreement" and "WeChat Personal Account Use Specifications", and continues to maintain a high-pressure crackdown on online gambling activities in various business scenarios within the platform. Once the relevant behavior is found and verified, the violating account will be dealt with according to the severity, including but not limited to:
◆ Restricting the ability to pay for accounts that participate in or organize gambling;
◆ Suspend accounts that participate in or organize gambling;
◆ Restrict the function of the gambling-related WeChat group and seal the group.
According to the WeChat Security Center, the Spring Festival is approaching, and the WeChat security team will continue to strengthen the overall governance of online gambling behaviors to protect WeChat's healthy and good online ecological environment.
