In the past two days, in a small village in the northeast forest and snow field, the villagers began to prepare mountain goods, and they were going to catch a special big fair. There are two parts to this large set, the first part is to be sold in the train cars, and the second part is to be sold at the farmers' market. In the New Year, we went to the grassroots level, and we followed the villagers to catch a big gathering on the train.
The village of Okuma is located in the mountainous area of eastern Liaoning, and the mountains are inconvenient to access. In the past, villagers had to walk for two hours to get to the county seat, and then take a train. In 2013, the 4,318 train from Tonghua, Jilin Province to Dandong, Liaoning Province, reached the foot of the mountain in Nishikuma Village. According to the original plan, the train will not stop here, but in order to facilitate the travel of the villagers here, the railway department has set up a boarding and landing point here.
There is no station house, no stop sign, just a slightly more spacious flat land next to the railway, which is the boarding and landing point for the villagers to get on the train.
The railway department found that many farmers would take the 4318th train to Fengcheng to catch up with the market and sell their agricultural products, and then take the 4317th train home. However, the interval between the return trains is only four hours, and some villagers rush to catch the train back before they are sold out. In order to allow the villagers to have more time to sell their goods, the railway department simply vacated a train of carriages during the New Year's festival and specially created a local product market, so that the villagers could sell their goods when they got on the train.
As soon as the big set on the train opened, the carriage instantly became lively. Because the local products brought by the villagers are of good quality and cheap, they are often favored by many customers.
Li Wengang, conductor of train 4318: I am very familiar with it, because I have been on this train for ten years, like Uncle Liu, a villager, who has dealt with us since we started walking, and all of this is provided free of charge on our train. Since 2019, in order to respond to the policy of targeted poverty alleviation and build a platform, because it is difficult for them to transport things out, they have held a New Year's goods fair on the train through the medium of trains.
An hour later, before the train arrived at the county seat, villager Liu Mingying sold out all the mountain goods he brought.
At 12:50, the 4318th train arrived in Fengcheng, and the villagers got off one after another and continued to sell their goods at the market.
After selling their own local products and buying some New Year's goods, the taste of the Spring Festival is getting stronger and stronger.
