Oracle Bone Dictionary, page 1010 of the Unidentified Characters Deciphering My Broken Oracle Bone Inscription Series (56)

On page 1088 of the Oracle Bone Dictionary, there is an unidentified word:

Judging from the content of the divination, this is a record of Wu Yi going hunting, in which the oracle bone script to be deciphered and the word "deer" after it are a continuous phrase, and "deer" ★ refers to a certain kind of antelope or deer animal on the African continent in ancient Egypt.

This oracle bone script to be cracked is composed of two parts, "deer and see", both of which are symbolic parts, and can be handed down if they are not mutated. Query the word next to the word "見", and there is no word to crack. Therefore, it can be determined that the "seeing" part has undergone a mutation. Then check the two parts next to the word "deer", and find the following words:

"Jun" refers to the largest, the tallest, and the most prominent. "Junlu" naturally refers to the largest giraffe on the African continent.

So is the meaning of the words "Junlu" and "Seeing Deer" consistent?

"See" means to be visible, to be seen, to be conspicuous. In other words, this animal is an animal that can be seen from a distance, isn't this a giraffe?

Looking at the oracle bone inscription, the "deer" is the "grass prefix", and all the antelopes and four oxelopes on the African continent do not have horns like "grass".

In fact, only the giraffe's horns are like a clump of grass.

At this point, it can be determined that the oracle bone script to be cracked is "麏", which refers to giraffes.
