From January 31 to February 1, Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Chamber of International Commerce, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Singapore to attend the 2024 China-Singapore Economic Cooperation Forum co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Singapore Business Federation. More than 200 people from the business community attended the event, and a number of cooperation achievements were reached at the meeting. During the visit, Ren Hongbin met with Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Minister of State Liew Yin Ling, Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation Lim Beng Yan, Executive Chief Executive Officer Kwok Shanxun, Former Chairman Teo Song Sing, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Ko Quanqing, Past President Wong Shan Chung, United Overseas Bank Group Chief Executive Officer Wong Yi Chung, Chief Commercial Officer of Rio Tinto Group and Chairman of China Bai Ruiming, and other Singaporean political and business figures to have an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening business exchanges between China and Singapore and deepening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Mr Yam also led a delegation to attend the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) Work Exchange Meeting and the 2nd China-Singapore Business Council Meeting. The relevant units directly under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the local CCPIT have signed a number of cooperation agreements with their counterparts in Singapore, and China Exhibition Group has signed a letter of intent with United Overseas Bank Group, RGE Group and Rio Tinto Group to participate in the second Chain Expo. The delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs included more than 130 representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, 10 local and industry CCPIT, and nearly 100 representatives of Chinese enterprises. During the visit, the Chinese and Singapore enterprises carried out one-on-one business matchmaking and reached a number of cooperation results.
