As we all know, the Miao nationality is a people with a long history, it originated in China, according to statistics, the population of the Miao nationality in the world is about 12 million, of which the population is mainly distributed in Asia, and in China there are nearly 9.6 million people, and many other countries are also scattered with a lot of Miao people, the most of which are hundreds of thousands, and the least of which is more than 100 people.
Why will it pass
The first time was 5,000 years ago, the Miao people living in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, with the defeat of the Jiuli tribe, some Miao people migrated to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
Later, due to the war, the Miao people were also forced to migrate again, to Xiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou and other places, the first few migrations were carried out in China, and the fourth time was abroad, respectively in Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and other places.
In the sixties of the last century, there were nearly 300,000 Miao people, which is equivalent to more than 10% of the total population of Laos, and before 1954, Laos was an overseas colony of France.
Later, with the help of the Thai government and relevant international rescue organizations, more than 60,000 Miao people immigrated to the United States, and they were also distributed to various regions of the United States, including California and Minnesota, where there were tens of thousands of people each.
When they first arrived in the United States, they could not understand English, and because of the language barrier, countless people could not find jobs, let alone support themselves, and these people could only rely on the relief money issued by the US government every day to survive.
Later, after a long time, the local government saw this situation and thought that it was not a way to go in the long run, so it sent people to solve their difficulties in life, learn the local language and laws, and even the local living habits.
But after all, they went to other countries, and they were not familiar with the place, so they chose to huddle together to keep warm after coming to the United States, and 20-30 families gathered together to form the Miao Association, which also became the main gathering place for Miao people in the United States.
After they are able to speak the most basic language, the local Miao association helps them find work, but because the education level of these people is generally not high, they can only do some basic work, men earn money by driving, opening restaurants, fishing and other jobs, and women rely on the most basic assembly work and cleaning to earn income.
Except for some elderly people who have no way to work and live on relief funds, the lives of the remaining people have gradually improved and have been greatly improved, and later after they have gained a firm foothold, tens of thousands of Miao people have come to the United States.
Over time, by the end of the last century, there were nearly 200,000 Hmong people in the United States, most of whom were from Laos, a small number from Vietnam, Thailand and other places, and 30,000 were born during this time.
As for the issue of marriage in the United States, because the Miao people have the traditional custom of intra-ethnic marriage, these young Miao men and women who have arrived in the United States are still given priority to their own ethnic groups, so among the newborns born, 95.2% of the children are of pure Miao blood, while only 5% of those who marry other ethnic groups.
These are all Miao people who took a fancy to Laotian or Thai girls in the process of migration, and when they went to the United States, they brought them all over, or in the process of settling down, there were also sparks of love with the American locals, and the Miao people in the United States did not live particularly well
Hmong athletes in the United States have been attacked by racists
For example, in the women's gymnastics individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympics, the original favorite to win the championship was Biles, the number one gymnast from the United States.
But just as the competition was about to start, Biles announced his official withdrawal from the competition due to "mental health" problems, and the United States, which had no choice, had to choose Sunisa Lee, the youngest member of the gymnastics team, to participate in the competition.
In the end, 18-year-old Sunisa Lee single-handedly defeated competitors from Brazil and Russia to win the gold medal in the event, and successfully helped the United States achieve five consecutive championships in this event.
Subsequently, after Sunisa Lee won the championship, many netizens looked at her face and didn't look like an American, and finally learned what was behind Sunisa Lee after continuous digging, it turned out that she was a Miao Asian athlete, and the only Miao athlete in history who had won an Olympic championship.
After she won the championship, the local "Washington News" in the United States also published a large number of articles to promote this matter:
"It's a victory for Asian-Americans, and most importantly for the Hmong community."
Although this is a happy thing for countless Miao descendants, there has always been such a saying among the people: "If you are not of my race, your heart will be different", and it is obvious that many people in the United States have also perfectly interpreted this sentence.
When Sunisa Lee returned to Los Angeles after the competition, she was also interviewed by many local news media, and she once said when she participated in a show that not long after winning the championship, she was attacked by local racists in the United States when she participated in a variety show and waited outside with her friends.
At that time, a car happened to pass by them, but it suddenly stopped, and when the window fell, the people in the car began to verbally attack Sunisa Lee, and even shouted for Sunisa Lee and her friends to "go back to where they came from", and then took out the pepper prepared in advance and sprayed Sunisa Lee and the others indiscriminately.
Although the friends who were leaving wanted to help catch them, but they couldn't do anything, the other party drove away directly after some operation, leaving everyone with only car exhaust, Sunisa Lee on the show also said after saying this:
"I don't want to do anything that might get me in trouble"
In fact, not only her, but also many Asians are often attacked by others for no reason when they are in the United States.
In January 2021, under the surveillance video of a Chinatown in the United States, a 91-year-old man was walking normally on the road, and was suddenly overturned by a man behind him and fell heavily to the ground.
Later, actor Wu Yanzu, who is also Asian, teamed up with another actor to issue a reward of $25,000 for this person, hoping that someone could provide clues to solve the case, and finally after nine days of investigation, the murderer was finally confirmed.
And since 2020, more and more Asians in the United States have suffered different verbal or physical attacks, all because of the outbreak of the epidemic, many local residents in the United States attribute these faults to these Asians, and then Americans who are not too big to do it also set up "anti-Asian" organizations.
When a year has passed, the violence against pressure continues, and some people have made statistics on this matter, and after statistics, it was found that in the first half of 2021, at least 4,533 cases of similar discrimination occurred.
