Note: Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in the Galaxy S24 series of phones launched this year, while in markets such as Europe, the Galaxy S24 / S24+ is equipped with its own Exynos 2400 chip.

The Exynos 2400 chip has regained a new lease of life and outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in ray tracing tests, but it is still in a "catch-up" mode overall.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will continue to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor globally, which will be equipped with Qualcomm's own CPU architecture, NUVIA / ORYON, and will be manufactured using advanced 3nm process technology to improve efficiency and performance.

Qualcomm said:

We are also announcing that we have extended our multi-year agreement with Samsung to launch the Snapdragon platform for flagship Galaxy smartphones starting in 2024. "The extension of the agreement is not only a testament to the value of the Snapdragon 8 Series, but also a testament to our technology leadership and an important cornerstone of our long-term strategic partnership with Samsung."
