In 2023, Huawei's mobile phone sales will skyrocket by 84% year-on-year!

On February 2, according to the latest report released by market research agency TechInsights, the global smartphone shipment data for the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2023 is displayed. Among them, Huawei's sales in 2023 will soar by 84% year-on-year, especially in the fourth quarter of 2023, and sales will soar by 93% year-on-year.
In 2023, global smartphone shipments will be 1,151.6 million units, down 3.9% year-on-year. In terms of specific manufacturer performance, Samsung ranks first with a market share of 19.6%, Apple ranks second with a market share of 18.8%, followed by Xiaomi (12.7%), OPPO (9.2%), Transsion (8.3%), vivo, Honor, Lenovo-Motorola, realme, and Huawei.
If we only look at the fourth quarter of 2023, global smartphone shipments in the quarter rebounded 7.1% year-on-year to 317 million units. It ended a nine-quarter slump over the past. Apple tops the global smartphone market with a market share of 22.6%. Samsung is in second place with a market share of 17%. Xiaomi (12.8%), Transsion (9.1%) and vivo (7.6%) are in third to fifth place, followed by OPPO (OnePlus), Honor, Lenovo-Motorola, Huawei and realme. Among them, Transsion performed the most in the fourth quarter, with shipments soaring by 64.9% year-on-year.
In addition, TechInsights also pointed out that Huawei's smartphone shipments in 2023 will achieve a year-on-year increase of up to 84%, ranking tenth in the world with a share of 3%. This is due in large part to the resilience of the Chinese market. In the Chinese market in particular, Huawei's smartphone shipments skyrocketed by 93% year-on-year, entering the top five smartphone market in China, mainly driven by the iconic Mate 60 Pro.
According to TechInsights, Huawei's comeback on 5G with its self-sufficient chipset is a milestone and breakthrough for China's semiconductor industry. We expect Huawei to massively reshape the Chinese smartphone market in the coming quarters. This will put other Chinese brands at risk and affect Apple's performance in the high-end segment of the world's largest smartphone market in 2024.
