The 2025 Ford Explorer was unveiled in the United States, and the biggest change was the interior, with increased cab space and improved layout. The 13.2-inch infotainment screen sits higher on the dashboard, with a new tray underneath for your phone and a wireless charging pad.
On the outside, the front face and taillights have been redesigned, and different variants are equipped with different grilles. The entry-level Active comes with a black mesh grille and chrome strips, while the Platinum has a satin-chrome wing design. Both the ST-Line and ST feature a honeycomb grille with mesh inserts. A new Vapor Blue Metallic exterior paint has been added for Active, ST-Line and ST grades.
Reducing the Explorer series from eight to four, Ford is brewing a rugged version that will be launched at a later date. The new car also comes with heated front seats, 10-way power seat adjustment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight USB ports (including two in the third row), three 12-volt ports, a power tailgate, Ford Co-Pilot 360 and LED headlights.
The new Explorer will also be the first Ford vehicle to feature a new digital experience infotainment system, equipped with a high-computing chip, five times faster, integration with the apps and services customers use most, and the ability to play games via a connected Bluetooth controller.
The powertrain remains unchanged for the new Explorer, which is available with 2.3-litre and 3.0-litre turbocharged engines mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with an optional all-wheel drive system. Deliveries of the new car are expected to begin in the second quarter of this year, with a starting price of US$41,220 (about 290,000 RMB), which is an increase in price compared to the previous generation model.
