Narcissus conservation tips
Narcissus is a kind of flower that mainland people love to plant during the New Year, and its flower color is white, the fragrance of flowers is rich, and it is highly respected. If the daffodils bloom well, many, and long during the New Year, it will be a very gratifying event and will be a good luck. So how do you get daffodils to bloom during the Chinese New Year? Let's take a look at these tips.
The flowering effect of daffodils largely depends on the quality of the bulbs, so when selecting daffodil bulbs in the early stage, it is necessary to select the large and full bulbs, and the state of the spheroids is better to present the shape of crab claws. Generally speaking, the circumference of the bulb is about 30-40 cm, and the flowering rate and flower quantity will be relatively high.
If possible, select carved daffodil bulbs, which will make it easier for daffodils to bloom, bloom early, and have a more neat or unique shape. However, carving is a highly technical operation, improper operation will damage the buds of narcissus, so it is generally not recommended for individuals to carry out carving operations, and directly purchase finished carved narcissus.
Narcissus is a plant that likes to be cool, and indoor temperature has a big influence on its flowering. When the temperature exceeds 20 °C for a long time, it is easy to make the daffodils decay in advance, or not bloom at all. However, slightly increasing the room temperature can indeed accelerate the development of daffodil buds and make them bloom earlier, so it is recommended to keep the indoor temperature at about 10°C-15°C before flowering, and if the room temperature is lowered to 10°C after flowering, it can effectively prolong the flowering period. If the indoor temperature is too high, you need to cool it down in time, avoid indoor air conditioning or heating, and place the daffodils in a well-ventilated area.
A small amount of aspirin tablets (about 1/4 tablet) can be added to the water to inhibit the respiration of narcissus, reduce the evaporation of water, and delay the aging of flowers. Or spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate in fertile leaves to supplement phosphorus and potassium elements, thereby promoting the color and morphology of flowers, enhancing the stress resistance of narcissus, and also prolonging the flowering period.
Short-term shading before germination, maintaining sufficient light and changing water frequently after germination can effectively promote the development of flower buds.
Removing residual flowers in time during the flowering period can maintain the beauty of the plant, and can also focus the nutrients on the flowers that are in full bloom, thereby prolonging the flowering period.
