In fact, the marriage bridge tells the love story between Xiangjun, the god of Xiangshui's male surname, and Mrs. Xiang, the god of Xiangshui's female surname. As the hanging sign of Changde City Bridge Management Office shows:
This bridge borrows the gods as the object to convey the simple and sincere love in the world. Qu Yuan told the love story between Xiangjun, the god of Xiangshui's male surname, and Mrs. Xiang, the god of Xiangshui's female surname, in "Nine Songs of Xiangjun" and "Nine Songs of Xiang's Lady". They came to meet on the banks of the marriage river respectively in response to the "Beizhu Covenant". In the midst of the bitter waiting, the pair of "Dongting Spouse Gods" both collected Du Ruofang grass on the bank of the river and prepared to give it to each other. However, Wangduan Qiushui never saw the Yiren. The name of the marriage river and the name of the marriage bridge are all derived from this. ”
Seeing this notice, passers-by will suddenly understand the legend of the bridge. There will be no more bangs and fox fairies. The love story between Xiangjun and Mrs. Xiang is very old, and it has been passed down from generation to generation in Changde and is well-known. When the bridge was built, a couple of bridge-building couples held their wedding on the bridge. To this day, there are still many couples who come to this bridge to leave wedding photos, thinking that husband and wife can be together for a hundred years and grow old together.
Just look at the Marriage Bridge River and the scenery around it, this is a place where the gods come and go. Because many communities here are planted with Du Ruo Fangcao, so buying a house here is a fairy life.
