On January 26, the machine roared, the large land leveler and seeder shuttled through the vast land, and the 8,000 acres of potato demonstration base in the potato town of Chutang Street Office, Suiping County, Henan Province ushered in the sowing season.
In order to implement the rural revitalization strategy, build an agricultural industrial system of "one township, one industry" and "one village, one product", and realize the development concept of prosperous industry, rich farmers, and ecological beauty, Suiping County will establish the Chutang potato demonstration base in 2022 to carry out various tasks such as potato resource innovation, variety selection, improved seed breeding, and integrated demonstration of mechanized production technology, so as to radiate and drive the development of surrounding farmers, promote the transformation and application of new varieties and technologies, and lay a technical foundation for improving the quality and efficiency of the potato industry in the whole street. At present, the planting area of the base reaches 8,000 acres, with a total output of 320,000 tons.
The varieties planted in the potato demonstration base mainly include Atlantic, Jenny, Experimental No. 1, Fertile Soil No. 5, Zhongshu No. 2, etc., and are exported to many countries in Southeast Asia and Shandong, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shanxi, Hubei and other provinces.
