Luo Huazhong: The sound of the military horn in the barracks

When I was in the Army, there was a commander at the regimental level, who was at the platoon level, and was a cadre of the communications unit of the regimental headquarters, who was in charge of the training of the regiment's commanders. The trumpet blew as loudly as this guy on the Internet. The passionate sound of the horn was transmitted among the mountains and fields, and immediately made every soldier who heard the sound of the horn refreshed and rushed in blood. The sound of the trumpet drifting far away in the wilderness came the sadness and desolation of the sunset over the long river.

Back then, the commander of our regiment was a native of Luzhai County, Guangxi, and he was also a Guangxi Yange who enlisted in the army in 68 years and was dry and thin. Blowing the trumpet makes people move their souls, which is both inspiring and tear-jerking. The trumpet is blown well, no one does not admire, the person is also very capable, the black and thin body, walking faster than a monkey up a tree, but speaking Guangxi Mandarin, often makes us laugh. The pocket is not called a pocket, it is called a "dog bag", and the trumpet chief is not called a trumpet chief, it is called "the chief". As soon as the whole regiment assembled, the "chief of the company" gave the order, and the officers and men of the company all laughed and said: "The chief of the dog bag" has greeted us, assemble quickly! Assemble quickly! The military trumpets of the battalions and companies also sounded, and the mountains, forests, and fields were full of trumpets of questions and answers.

At the end of 1969, our regiment was digging a tunnel in the mountains of Ledong County, Hainan, and the troops were about to evacuate after the task was completed. The regiment sent cadres to various detachments to inspect the preparations for the departure of the troops, and Comrade Commander was responsible for inspecting our company, which was nothing more than weighing the marching load to understand the situation of the sick and wounded. When he arrived at the heavy machine-gun platoon where I was the platoon commander, he weighed the weight of the weapons and equipment carried by each soldier in the same way that he could not be more earthy, and the objects on each person's back weighed sixty-two pounds. "Tell the chief" that you are really good, the load of one person weighs sixty-two pounds, and you have to walk and run, which is really amazing. "At that time, I had just become a platoon commander, and I had to cooperate with the deputy instructor of the company to take a company of 100 people out of the mountain. At that time, the cadres of the company were all "on the left", and there was only one stupid guy who had just been promoted from secretary general to deputy instructor, and me, the stupid platoon commander, had to take a group of veterans who had served for five or six years and recruits who had just enlisted in the army to come out of the deep mountains and old forests and go straight to the new camping site. Seeing that Comrade Commander and I were as young as me, that is, a hairy boy, I learned his Guangxi Mandarin tune and said: "Although the load is very heavy, our machine gun company has resolutely completed the task of marching on foot and will never fall behind, so please rest assured that the chief!" When the "commander" heard me call him the chief, he was very embarrassed for a while, but he couldn't react, and he happily returned the military salute. When I returned to the regiment headquarters, he sued me again, saying that the XX platoon commander of XX Company had played me, saying that I was the head of the regiment, and he kept saying "to the chief". The staff officers of the regimental headquarters who were listening to the report were all happy. said that the platoon commander saluted the "commander", you picked up a military salute in vain, and you have to complain, are you stupid or the platoon commander stupid. Your delegation to the headquarters went to inspect the work, and there was nothing wrong with him saluting you, and there was nothing wrong with you returning the salute, so there is nothing to complain about. Speaking from the heart, the "commander" is a good soldier, the commander has been a trumpet for almost ten years, I heard that he has been a regimental trumpet commander until the change of career, I have not seen him in the past ten years, but the loud military horn sound in my heart still lingers, the clever and thin body of the simple country voice makes me unforgettable.

At the battalion level, the person who manages the military horn is called "trumpet", and the outline is the "eye". If you don't speak Mandarin well, it's called "number mother". The trumpet is the squad leader level, the trumpeter in charge of the whole battalion, and the formal name is "division trumpeter", which is one of the company's service soldiers. The trumpeters are generally very young and smart, and like the company correspondents, the officers and men of the company are very fond of the little soldiers, so everyone calls them "trumpeters". Some of the trumpeters have retired from the army, although they are still affectionately called "trumpets" when their comrades-in-arms gather so far, they are also happy to answer "to", a young appearance of elves.

Not everyone can do a good job as a trumpeter. The little soldiers did not have a high level of education, and few of them had played musical instruments before joining the army, especially wind instruments. It is not easy for a company to choose a commander. That's all the age of a long head, at the beginning it was still a tender skin and tender flesh, but in a year and a half, he became a strong man, and the shape and volume of his mouth have all changed, and if he doesn't have a good sense of self-adjustment, he can't blow the military horn. Then you have to change people, and you have to learn from scratch, but it really doesn't mean that you have to change people, you have to blow it, you have to blow it well, and you have to remember the dozens of horn scores, which is not easy. If a company chooses a soldier who can't play the military horn well as a trumpeter, then it is called deserved!

When I was a soldier, there was a company of buglers in the battalion who couldn't blow the trumpet. He was still a fellow countryman who enlisted in the army in the same year, and when he was a trumpeter, he couldn't blow the trumpet, and there was no substitute for a while, but fortunately, the deputy instructor of that company was a trumpeter and often blew the trumpet for him. However, the company cadres can't always be substitute commanders, so they have to be horses or donkeys, or my fellow countryman is in charge. As soon as they got up or went out to exercise, the sound of their company's trumpet was like an unkillable rooster crowing, and the officers and men were all happy when they heard it. Everyone said: "X Company has killed chickens again, and that company is living a really good life." The officers and men of their company were very angry, and their company commander gave him a whistle, tied it with a strip of red clothes, and hung it around his neck all day long, just like a young pioneer, which was very fun. The company changed its whistle, and the other companies gathered to blow the trumpet, and their companies gathered to blow the whistle, like a militia team, which made the people of a company very shameless.

The sound of the military horn was very encouraging, and as soon as the military horn sounded, the officers and men were in high spirits. Later, when I became a navy, there was no staffing of the trumpet, and there was no military trumpet, and the troops were lifeless, and everyone was unhappy. When I was the battalion commander, I didn't care about what the establishment was or not, the battalion still had trumpets and soldiers, and they still played trumpets every day. It was not revoked until nearly 1984.

The sound of the trumpet is an order, and it may be in my blood. Look at the military horn blown by the veteran on the video, it is really exciting, and the military past is vivid.
