Wang Yi issued an ultimatum to the United States, a large number of PLA aircraft and ships appeared in the Taiwan Strait, and Japan accelerated the formulation of an evacuation plan

Recently, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan traveled thousands of miles to meet with Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is currently visiting Thailand. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi focused on expressing a solemn position on the Taiwan issue to the US side. Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed that "Taiwan independence" is not only the biggest risk to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, but also the biggest challenge to China-US relations, and the US side should strictly abide by the one-China principle, fulfill its commitment not to support "Taiwan independence", and support China's peaceful reunification.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Sullivan

For a long time, the United States has said that it will follow the one-China policy, but in practice it is completely opposite. The erroneous actions of the US side have seriously damaged China's core interests by saying that it is "opposing" Taiwan independence on the one hand, and accelerating arms sales to Taiwan and strengthening the so-called "asymmetric combat capability" of the Taiwan military on the other hand. Foreign Minister Wang Yi once again expounded China's position in the presence of Sullivan this time, sending a very clear signal that our determination to resolve the Taiwan issue is unbreakable. If the United States does not stop its erroneous moves on the Taiwan issue, Sino-US relations are doomed to not get better, and it is even more impossible for us to agree to what the United States wants China to do.

During the meeting between Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Sullivan, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) also began operations in the Taiwan Strait. According to Taiwan media reports, from January 26 to 27, 33 PLA military aircraft and six warships appeared in the Taiwan Strait, which was the largest number of PLA military planes circling Taiwan since the end of the election on the island. The signal is also very clear: the PLA has been training and preparing for war, and is always ready to take decisive measures when needed to completely resolve the Taiwan issue.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) cruises the Taiwan Strait

In recent years, PLA aircraft and ships have made patrols on Taiwan Island normalized, which is of great significance to our efforts to defend our territorial integrity and promote the process of reunification. On the one hand, carrying out regular patrols around Taiwan Island is a way to declare sovereignty, and at the same time, it can also effectively deter the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island, so that they can clearly understand that if they dare to cross the red line, the sharp sword will fall. On the other hand, through daily patrols, we can familiarize ourselves with the battle positions in advance and practice the tactics of taking over Taiwan, so as to ensure that the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island can be swept away with a thunderous force in the battle to take over Taiwan.

In the face of the PLA's powerful deterrence, there is no other way on the island than to give a routine briefing, because the gap in military strength between the two sides of the strait is like a chasm, and the Taiwan military does not dare to confront the PLA directly. The United States, on the other hand, does not dare to make any actual moves, except for shouting from a distance, so the Taiwan authorities can only accept reality.

It is worth mentioning that Japan has recently begun to play a demon again on the Taiwan issue. According to Taiwan media reports, the Japanese government has set up a research group to speed up the formulation of an evacuation plan in case of "something happening in Taiwan". It has been learned that the Japanese side will build shelter facilities and reserve supporting food, medical supplies, and other supplies, and that once a conflict breaks out in the Taiwan Strait, residents and tourists from the southwestern islands close to Taiwan Island will be evacuated to the Japanese mainland according to the plan. This move by the Japanese side is obviously maliciously hyping up the situation in the Taiwan Strait and trying to escalate the situation.

In recent years, the Japanese government has often followed the United States in provocations on the Taiwan issue, with the aim of cooperating with the United States in containing the rise of the mainland, and at the same time creating a tense atmosphere in the region to find an excuse for its own "normalization" of the country. It is precisely because of Japan's frequent demonization on the Taiwan issue that Sino-Japanese relations are in a difficult situation. Recently, the Japanese side has repeatedly sent non-governmental organizations to visit China in an attempt to promote the easing of Sino-Japanese relations in this way, but the results have been ineffective. This is because Japan only shouts slogans and only cares about its own interests, completely ignoring China's concerns about the discharge of nuclear-contaminated water into the sea and its solemn position on the Taiwan issue. If the Japanese side is not sincere, Sino-Japanese relations will naturally not be eased.

In the game surrounding the Taiwan issue today, we have an absolute advantage. Although the United States, Japan, and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on the island have continued to make small moves, their provocations cannot change the trend of the situation in the Taiwan Strait. With the presence of the People's Liberation Army, the Taiwan issue will inevitably be resolved, and cross-strait reunification will eventually be realized.
