Qian Jue was born in the last years of the Tang Dynasty and became an official in the court on the recommendation of Prime Minister Wang Pu. He was in charge of drafting the edict (Zheng Sanpin) as Shang Shulang, and later promoted to the rank of Zhongshusheren.
