According to the "History of Heze Peony" (manuscript), the history of Heze peony flowering can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty. "My grandfather (Gao Pengcheng) 'went to Guangzhou', the land transportation was inconvenient, the flowering peony seedlings were pushed to Jinan with a wooden wheelbarrow, and the ship was loaded to Tianjin to go to sea, and then transferred to Guangzhou in Shanghai, which took more than a month each way, and the flowering peony seedlings were greatly damaged due to the transfer of ships, wind, and sun.
