Leyu Republic of China Commercial Street was built in 1934 by the local wealthy gentry Zhang Jianlu. The main street is 250 meters long. It was originally paved with gravel, but now it is paved with Jinshan strip stone, and a sewer pipe has been added. The shop halls on both sides still maintain small tile roofs, the eaves are opposite, the architectural form of wooden pillars of the board door, the carved eaves are exquisite and beautiful, and there are a total of 128 large mahogany columns under the symmetrical eaves on both sides. The houses throughout the street are sturdy and charming. Its heyday was in the thirties and forties of the last century, and it was a necessary place and commercial distribution center for northern and central Jiangsu at that time.
