The New Year is getting closer and closer, and the bell of the Year of the Dragon is about to ring. In this beautiful season of saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new, on the morning of January 26, President Sun Deqiang led Shi Junwen, president of the Calligraphy and Painting Club of Huailai University for the Elderly, and other 11 teachers and students to Minmin Street, Xin'an Town, to carry out the activity of "Welcoming the Spring Festival and Writing Spring Festival Couplets and Sending Blessings to the University for the Elderly". Chen Wenhui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xin'an Town, Ji Sujun, Mayor of Xin'an Town, and Zhu Chuntao, Secretary of Minmin Street Village, came to the scene to express their warm welcome and sincere thanks to the teachers and students of the elderly university who braved the cold to send blessings to the villagers and friends.

The event scene was full of laughter and joy, full of ink rhyme and bookish atmosphere. The teachers and students splashed ink, the pen walked the dragon and snake, vigorous and powerful, and the simple and elegant blessings jumped on the paper, winning the applause of the villagers and friends present. Principal Sun Deqiang wrote a couplet for the Minzhu Street Village Committee, demonstrating his solid children's skills; Xi Changxin, the 80-year-old squad leader, danced with dragons and phoenixes, and the villagers lined up to wait for his calligraphy; Zhang Tianwen's free-flowing Zhao Ti showed his excellent calligraphy skills; Guo Jinping and Gao Xiuhua's handwriting was beautiful and feminine; and Hou Zhiheng's squad leader's soft and rigid official calligraphy was even more unique and deeply loved by everyone. It was already half past twelve o'clock at noon, and the villagers still came to the event site in an endless stream, and the tireless teachers and students met the needs of every villager and let them get their favorite Spring Festival couplets. The villagers are full of praise for the Spring Festival couplets and can't put them down, and their simple words are full of joy and gratitude.

The festive and auspicious Spring Festival couplets and the bright red word "Fu" not only carry the heartfelt blessings of the elderly university teachers and students to the villagers, but also contain everyone's longing for a better life.

Spring Festival couplets culture has a long history, from the Han Dynasty there is a custom of sticking words such as "Yingchun" on the door, to the Tang Dynasty, the Spring Festival couplets gradually evolved into the form of horizontal batches and couplets, and developed into calligraphy art and folk culture, to the Song Dynasty, the Spring Festival couplets have been widely spread among the people, forming the Spring Festival couplets culture we see today. Every year, in the cold winter, the teachers and students of the University for the Aged will go into the communities and villages, into the enterprise troops, send the red Spring Festival couplets to thousands of households, carry forward the excellent culture of the Chinese nation, and make positive contributions to inheriting civilization and enlivening the cultural life of the grassroots masses.

This year, the University for the Elderly has entered Tianrunyuan East Community, Tianrunyuan West Community, Fuda Garden Community, Yongan Community, Yonghong Community, Li & Fung Bank, Chinese Life Property Insurance Company, Transportation Bureau and other units and communities to write Spring Festival joint blessings, and the units invited before the Spring Festival are still queuing.
