Geely's brand LEVC (London-based electric vehicle company) recently unveiled a prototype of its first all-electric MPV, the Yizhen Xspace (internal code name L380). The new car is built on the SOA platform (Space-Oriented Architecture) and offers a variety of seating layouts, including 3, 6 and 8 seats, to meet different mobility needs. It is expected to be launched in April 2024, with a starting price of around 350,000 yuan.
In terms of design, the Xspace is inspired by Airbus's large aircraft, the A380, with a rounded nose and a boxy rear design designed to maximize interior space. With body dimensions of 5316/1998/1940 mm and a wheelbase of 3185 mm, it offers passengers ample legroom and freedom of seat adjustment. The front of the car adopts a continuous daytime running light and split headlight design, giving it a futuristic look overall.
Egen Xspace offers a variety of seating layouts, including 3, 6 and 8 seats. The power door handles are concealed, and the rear side doors are electric side sliding doors to provide larger openings for getting on and off the vehicle. The rear taillights have a fully blackened light cavity with an X-shaped design, which is both simple and sci-fi. The look is the same as the ideal MEGA that appeared before, but it is very different, I don't know which shape you like more?
In terms of power, the Xspace is available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, with the single-motor version having a maximum power of 200 kW and the dual-motor version having 200 kW front and rear motors. Equipped with ternary lithium batteries from CATL and Times Geely, it is expected to have a maximum range of more than 600 kilometers.
In addition, the SOA platform not only has originality in space design, but also performs well in intelligent networking, supporting L2-L4 intelligent driving assistance, with 1000 TOPS computing power upgrade and 5G gigabit transmission capacity.
Overall, the Xspace showcases LEVC's innovation in the electric MPV segment, attracting attention with its spatial layout, design elements and smart technology.
