"Shanghai Pudong Development Bank really sent us timely rain this time!" Seeing that the money was in place, Liu Changlin, secretary of the general party branch of Miaoshan Village, Miaoxi Town, breathed a sigh of relief, and the organic ecological tea garden renovation project that the whole village was looking forward to was finally smoothly promoted.

Miaoxi Town, located in the west of Wuxing District, Huzhou City, has always been known for its hilly tea, and the local tea industry has been developing for a long time, and almost every household in the village grows tea. However, due to the fact that the local tea farmers mainly rely on the business model of their own contracted land, the scale of the tea plantations is relatively small, the technology is relatively backward, and the efficient and modern industrial chain has not been formed, and the "money bags" of tea farmers are always unable to bulge.

In order to integrate resource advantages, in December 2022, the local state-owned assets set up a project company to invest in the construction of the "Organic Ecological Tea Garden Reconstruction Project of Shishan Village, Miaoxi Village, and Pancun Village in Miaoxi Town" to upgrade and transform nearly 10,000 acres of tea gardens in Miaoxi Town, and strive to improve the yield and quality of tea gardens.

The reporter learned that the project involves upgrading and transforming the tea garden area of 3974.4 acres, and the planting varieties are mainly three decyl rain buds, golden buds and high-quality green tea. Through the update of software and hardware such as tea varieties, tea garden management methods, monitoring and irrigation systems, the average income per mu is expected to increase by 5,000-6,000 yuan after the successful transformation.

However, to carry out this major project, the need for capital is bound to be significant. In this regard, the Hangzhou Branch of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank acted quickly, visited the villagers' cooperatives and project companies many times, provided "nanny-style" financing and financial services, and opened a green channel for credit approval for them, and quickly completed the approval and credit of 200 million yuan through the collaborative operation of the front, middle and back offices, and put the first green loan of 137 million yuan at the end of 2023 to pay the villagers for the transfer of tea forest land.

"The project involves nearly 10,000 acres of tea woodland, and the construction time of this project is tight and the task is heavy. The first phase of the tea forest land transfer fee is paid in place, and the follow-up work can be carried out smoothly. After the villagers get the circulation fee, they are more motivated to participate in the construction of the tea plantation. Liu Changlin said frankly that this loan can be said to have helped the deep integration of the tea industry in Miaoxi Town and injected financial vitality into rural revitalization.

It is reported that the project will be completed and accepted by September 2024. After the project is put into operation, it will add 5,500 employment opportunities for local villagers, effectively promote rural revitalization, strengthen towns and enrich the people, and drive the economic development of surrounding areas.

"A leaf" achieves an industry, enriches the people, and drives the development of the party. In recent years, in order to promote the development of green agriculture, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Hangzhou Branch has increased credit support for green agriculture, especially in the areas of comprehensive rural land consolidation, carbon sequestration forests, tree and grass planting, seedlings and flowers, etc., striving to achieve the development of green agriculture while improving the economic benefits of green agriculture and achieving common prosperity for all people. As of the end of 2023, the balance of green agricultural credit of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Hangzhou Branch was 356 million yuan, of which 253 million yuan was newly invested in the fourth quarter. The annual green credit includes projects such as the Anji County Smart Greenhouse Project and the 10,000 Mu Fang Project in the Southwest Area of Meixi Town.

In the future, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Hangzhou Branch will thoroughly implement the ideology and concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", inject a steady stream of "financial living water" into the development of rural industries, and create a new ecology of rural finance.
