It's too dangerous, and on the southern border near El Paso, Texas, Border Patrol officers found at least 40 illegal immigrants crammed into several vehicles earlier this week. El Paso District Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Murphy Photos posted by Anthony "Scott" Good on Monday show that
In one of the photos, about 11 men can be seen lying in the back of a white pickup truck. These people were covered with a tarp. In another image, several men and women can be seen huddled in the back of another car.
The Santa Teresa Border Patrol Anti-Smuggling Force, the Special Operations Detachment and the Texas Department of Public Safety teamed up to thwart the smuggling operation, Goode wrote. On Tuesday, Goode again posted on social media about another human smuggling in which 16 migrants were crammed into a small SUV.
Goode wrote. In one of the photographs, most of the male migrants are sitting on a concrete floor, their faces mosaiced. Another image shows an empty mini SUV crashing into another car. It is unclear whether the migrants were detained or if anyone was arrested for the smuggling operation.
These incidents come after the highest rate of illegal immigrants at the southern border of the United States last month, surpassing previous statistics.
Sources from Customs and Border Protection told Fox News Digital Channel that in the last month of 2023, there were a staggering 300,000 migrant encounters, a level unimaginable just a few years ago.
