A group of Sai Kung District Council members were invited to take the lead in taking a trial boat ride and found that the fastest boat ride takes only 20 minutes, which is 10 minutes faster than the original estimate of the Transport Department, and they can also enjoy the scenery of the overhead crossing of the Bay Bridge.
Tseung Kwan O (South) – Sai Wan Ho
According to the shipping company's website, the "Tseung Kwan O (South) – Sai Wan Ho" kaito service is operated by Yun Lee Marine Holdings, with the earliest boat departing from Tseung Kwan O South Terrace at 7:15 a.m. and the last boat departing at 7:45 p.m., while the first boat departing from Sai Wan Ho at 6:45 a.m. and the last boat departing at 7:15 p.m.
The boarding location was originally planned as the No. 1 platform of the Shau Wan Typhoon Shelter opposite the Lei King Wan housing estate, but it has been temporarily changed to the No. 10 platform of the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter until further notice.
In terms of fares, the one-way fare is HK$16.8 for adults, HK$8.5 for children, and HK$8.5 for senior citizens aged 65 and persons with disabilities.
It is worth noting that bicycles, pets and cargo are allowed on this route, with the first two being priced at $16.8 for adults and $16.8 per 0.1 cubic metres of cargo.

She would actively appeal to residents in the district to try the boat, but she thought that the first and last sailing times of the shipping companies were slightly insufficient to meet the demand, so she suggested that the ferry schedule should be lengthened, for example, in view of the lighting time of the Cross Bay Bridge from 8 to 10 p.m., the last ferry from Tseung Kwan O should be postponed from 7:45 p.m. to about 10 p.m., so as to attract residents and tourists from outside the district.
Another District Councillor, Cheung Chin-pang, said that he felt good about the first trial ride, and the whole journey from Tseung Kwan O South to Sai Wan River from crossing the harbour to disembarking at Sai Wan River took about 20 minutes, which was faster than expected, and the shipping company had prepared the large ship "New Mileage 138" with a capacity of 100 passengers and the "New Mileage 17" with a capacity of 50 passengers, and made flexible deployment according to the passenger capacity.
He pointed out that he had noticed that the temporarily approved landing and disembarkation site of the Transport Department at Sai Wan Ho overlapped with the route of the Tung Lung Island Ferry, and it was expected that there might be a delay due to the same landing time for the two vessels, and that it would take about 10 minutes to walk from the nearest Tseung Kwan O Station to the South Terrace, which is expected to coincide with the MTR.
