On January 24, a fire broke out on the first floor of Xinyu, Jiangxi Province, killing 39 people and injuring 9 others.
In order to deeply learn the lessons of relevant accidents and effectively guard the bottom line of safety, on January 25, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Public Security Department, the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau, the Provincial Sports Bureau, the Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps and other members of the provincial joint conference on the "double reduction" work issued an emergency notice on the rapid implementation of fire safety inspections of off-campus training institutions.

Institutions that do not meet the requirements should be seriously ordered to make rectifications within a set period of time. For those who meet the requirements, regular inspections should be carried out to strengthen safety precautions.
The notice emphasizes that in strict accordance with the requirements of the "Nine Regulations on Fire Safety Management of Off-campus Training Institutions" issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Education and the General Office of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the inspection will be carried out one by one, focusing on the main responsibility of fire safety, the fire safety setting of the site and the management of fire-fighting equipment, the management of fire hazards, the fire safety evacuation conditions, and the daily fire prevention inspection and inspection, especially the inspection of electrical lines, gas pipelines, heating facilities, and the use of electrical appliances.

The relevant member units of the joint conference on the "double reduction" work of districted cities and counties (cities and districts) should immediately benchmark against the table, conscientiously carry out self-examination, form a list of the problems found, and formulate targeted rectification measures to ensure that comprehensive rectification is in place. The Provincial Joint Conference Office of the "Double Reduction" Work immediately set up 6 provincial fire safety inspection teams to randomly inspect 13 districted cities. For the problems found in the spot checks, the problems will be handed over, key supervision and other methods, and handed over to the relevant local departments for investigation and punishment and supervision and rectification.
