He has successively served as the Director of the President's Office of Shanghai Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd., Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Sino-US Shanghai Squibb Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Executive Vice President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Antibiotic Division of Shanghai Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd.
Sino-US Shanghai Squibb Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a joint venture between SIIC and Bristol-Myers Squibb, is the first Sino-US joint venture pharmaceutical enterprise after the reform and opening up.
In December 2006, Bao Bingzhang was appointed as the deputy head of Xuhui District, and in December 2011, he became a member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee. The notice mentioned that Bao Bingzhang was dismissed from his post as executive deputy director of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District Management Committee.
