The application for the Hong Kong TTPS was rejected by more than 30 million last year!
As of the end of December 2023, the Hong Kong government has received a total of 64,820 applications, of which nearly 51,000 have been approved.
The details of the specific types of applications were not disclosed, but it is known that more than 70% of the approved applicants were under the age of 40, and nearly 80% of them were in categories A and B.
In addition, about 3,000 cases were rejected, accounting for about 5% of the total number of applications.
The Hong Kong government's analysis of the rejection was mainly due to the applicant's failure to meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
That is, the annual salary of the Category A application does not meet the requirements. Some income is not counted at 2.5 million miles, such as income from personal investment.
or graduated from a school that is not on the Consolidated List of Eligible Universities or whose qualifications are not eligible. For example, the qualifications obtained from online/distance learning, evening, self-study or part-time courses offered by "eligible universities" do not meet the criteria for Category B or C.
The application criteria of the TTPS are reiterated:
Category A: Annual income of HK$2.5 million or above in the year immediately preceding the application;
2.5 million Hong Kong dollars is converted into RMB about 2.3 million. Personal income can meet the standard or 50% of the company's profit can meet the standard proportionally.
Category B: a full-time undergraduate degree from an eligible university with at least three years' working experience in the five years immediately preceding the date of application;
Category C: Obtained a full-time undergraduate degree from an eligible university with less than three years' working experience in the five years immediately preceding the date of application.
Although the annual limit of 10,000 was stated at the time of the introduction of Category C, it is clear that the limit has been exceeded according to the available data.

Renewal of TTP visa
There is no work requirement for the first time to apply for a stay visa with a validity period of two years, and an application for extension of stay should be made to the Immigration Department no later than 4 weeks before the expiry date. We can understand that the Hong Kong government gives the applicant two years to find a job in Hong Kong, during which the spouse can also obtain the status to work in Hong Kong, and the children can study in Hong Kong.
There are two modes of approval renewal, one is 2+3+3 years, and the other is 2+6 years, no matter what, the first endorsement is 2 years, as for the second renewal is 3 years or 6 years, it depends on whether the salary reaches 2 million a year.
A job is required to renew. For each renewal, the applicant must be employed by a Hong Kong enterprise or self-employed, and the applicant's salary generally needs to be higher than the market level, and the information of the employer's company (company business certificate, financial status document, etc.) needs to be submitted.
There is no mandatory requirement for TTPS applicants to reside in Hong Kong.
In other words, TTPS renewal eligibility is subject to an employment in a job normally performed by an equivalent degree holder with a market-level remuneration package.

Application Guide for the Hong Kong TTPS
Step 1: Prepare your documents
1. Academic certificate
Undergraduate degree certificates, graduation certificates, transcripts. If you are applying for Category B or Category C, you must pay attention to whether your school is on the list of the world's top 100 universities! At present, there are only 9 eligible mainland universities.
2. A recent photo + a scanned copy of the Hong Kong and Macao Permit
Prepare an electronic version of your own ID photo, preferably within three months with a white background, within 5M in size, and need to be processed in PEG format. A PDF can be scanned on the front of the Hong Kong and Macau Permit. The application date must still be within the validity period of the pass!
3. Proof of relevant work experience
Information that can prove previous work experience, such as employment contracts, income certificates, resignation certificates, salary statements, etc., must match the number of years of service required by the application category, and clearly reflect the start and end dates.
4. Consent to go to Hong Kong
A letter of consent to work in Hong Kong issued by the applicant's current employer or the relevant Mainland authorities. Note: Mainland residents must submit!
