Since 2022, Lao Wang has been obviously old and frail, and his mobility is inconvenient, so he cannot work in the fields. Subsequently, Lao Wang spent more than 6,800 yuan on two hospitalizations, and he was unable to take care of himself after being discharged. Lao Wang asked his sons to take them away, taking turns to take care of them to no avail, and the village committee came forward to mediate the dispute. However, the children all believed that Wang's separation was unfair, and unanimously refused to accept the mediation result and refused to settle Wang's medical expenses.
Subsequently, Lao Wang sued the three of them to the Shilong Court, and the court held that Lao Wang's subsidized income from the national rural elderly benefiting the people and the rental income from the contracted land should be controlled by him and used for daily expenses. At the same time, make a will for the property of the elderly before his death, and divide it reasonably to avoid disputes again. The three defendants should share equally the medical expenses owed by the elderly for medical treatment.
In the end, the court ruled that the three defendants should each pay more than 2,270 yuan for Lao Wang's medical expenses. From 1 January 2024, the three defendants will take care of Lao Wang for one month each round, and they will be responsible for the food, clothing, housing and medical practice during the period of life. The party responsible for taking care of the elderly should promptly inform the other parties, and the three defendants shall share the amount equally. For those who need to spend more than 500 yuan at one time, the expenses below 500 yuan shall be borne by the party taking care of the elderly. From 2024 onwards, the plaintiff's annual payment of rural cooperative medical insurance premiums will be paid by the three defendants in turn.
After the three defendants were educated in the trial, they said in court: "If the judge decides, we will enforce it."
