Lang Shuai and his teammates won the 2013 WCG World Championship together, the source of the official blog of the CrossFire event

Titanium Media APP exclusively learned that in response to the damage to the brand image of "CrossFire" caused by the live broadcast script incident of CrossFire professional e-sports player Lang Shuai (player ID: 70kg) before October 2023, the official of the CrossFire event will impose a fine on the player's brokerage company, AG E-sports Club, and the fine may reach 10 million yuan.

This is the highest amount of fines imposed on clubs by game e-sports brands due to image damage.

As one of the central figures in this incident, Lang Shuai is an iconic figure of CrossFire esports in China. During his tenure, Lang Shuai won the WCG CrossFire World Championship twice and became a member of the WCG Hall of Fame in 2013.

Titanium Media APP learned that the reason why he was punished was high because on October 16 last year, Lang Shuai was suspected of fraud in his personal Douyin live broadcast debut.

During the live broadcast, Lang Shuai and Tang Maoqing (player ID: extinct), a professional player from the AG E-sports Club, and a number of professional players from CrossFire, played an online game against the well-known CrossFire anchor team "Capitalist".

In the four-game battle, the "professional team" led by Lang Shuai and the anchor team tied 2:2. Tang Maoqing thought that some players of the "capitalist" team were hanging, so he stopped the battle.

On November 3, "CrossFire" officially announced that a game account used by the "Capitalist" team in this battle violated the "Tencent Game User Agreement" due to violations, so the account was banned for ten years.

On November 13, Guangjun, the head of the "Capitalist" team, revealed in the live broadcast that the results of the previous live broadcast were arranged by both sides before the game, and the whole battle was a script designed for AG Club and Guangjun.

After the news was exposed, public opinion boiled instantly. As a result, the focus of controversy in this incident has risen from "whether it is open" to "professional e-sports clubs planning and participating in match-fixing", which has affected the brand image of "CrossFire".

After the "script" incident, the official "Crossfire" did not disclose the specific punishment results.

According to the above-mentioned sources revealed to the Titanium Media APP, in addition to fines, all signed artists under the AG Club (including commentators, retired professional players and related KOLs) will no longer be exposed by all official channels of "CrossFire".

Titanium Media APP asked the official "Crossfire" for verification on this matter through multiple channels, but the other party did not respond as of press time.
