Recently, according to foreign media reports, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz "Mini G-Class" will only provide a pure electric system, and the new car is expected to be launched in 2026.
The report quoted Mercedes-Benz Chief Technology Officer Markus Schaefer as saying that the new "Mini G-Class" will be powered entirely by an electric powertrain, and that the internal combustion engine is being developed is a rumor.
Mercedes-Benz executives also mentioned that the new car will not use the MMA (Mercedes Modular Architecture) architecture to develop a "mini G-Class", as the platform was developed specifically for entry-level models. The new car will be developed on a separate platform and will use parts from the brand's large rear-wheel drive architecture.
