Facts have proved that it is impossible for the mainland to give up Taiwan.
According to the information released by Taiwan's defense department, from 6 a.m. on January 17 to 6 a.m. on January 18, 24 PLA fighter jets appeared near the Taiwan Strait. Most crucially, 11 of these fighters have crossed the "median line of the Taiwan Strait", and five Chinese warships are carrying out activities around the island.
This series of actions by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) can be described as a very dangerous signal in the eyes of the Taiwan authorities, because after all, PLA fighters have already exceeded the "middle line of the Taiwan Strait" and "intruded" into Taiwan territory without permission, and this is already an act of "territorial aggression." Perhaps in the minds of the Taiwan authorities and "Taiwan independence elements" at that time, this was a signal that the PLA wanted to carry out "armed reunification."
As a matter of fact, as far as the mainland is concerned, there is no intention of carrying out "armed reunification" at present, but the relevant deterrent actions should still be launched, because after all, Lai Qingde is a staunch "Taiwan independence element." If the KMT's "pro-US and Sino-friendly" attitude belongs to the mud and grass on the wall, the Chinese side can still tolerate it and change it step by step. Lai Qingde's "Taiwan independence" is an extremely dangerous signal, and if the Chinese side does not take any more measures, Lai Qingde may be selling Taiwan to the United States.
