The 2.4T hybrid is ready for a price increase?
After being discontinued for more than a year, the all-new Lexus GX is finally on sale. The new model will be available in three variants, with prices ranging from CNY 778,000 to CNY 888,000.
Unlike the past, this car is positioned as a hard-core off-road, and it is more powerful than the higher-level Lexus LX in terms of off-road ability. We can see from the styling that this car is different.
The front of the new car still uses a spindle-shaped grille design, and the interior is treated with wide lines, which has a stronger visual impact and makes the car appear larger. The front bonnet has a pronounced square bulge on both sides, which is more masculine than other Lexus models. The headlights on both sides are horizontal with the grille, and they are presented with a straight line, giving it a more manly look.
The new Lexus GX has a relatively slender side, the new car length/width/height is 4960 (4970)/1980 (2000)/1925 (1930) mm, and the wheelbase is 2850mm, allowing designers to have a lot of room to play. Among them, the large area of windows gives the occupants a wider view, and the roof is also blackened, which looks more luxurious with the sand-colored body.
The rear of the car has been redesigned, starting with the appearance of continuous taillights, which is the first in the history of the brand. Secondly, the rear has a square line, there are not many details to dig into, and it is worth mentioning that the new car uses a Lexus GX-specific off-road package, including the previous AT tires and a silver aluminum lower skid plate that can be seen front and rear. In addition, the rear windshield of the new car can be opened separately, making it more flexible and convenient to use.
In the interior part, the new car is equipped with a 14-inch central control screen, a new multimedia system is built-in, and has been adapted locally, and can even support applications such as QQ music, Tencent video, Himalayas, and volcanic car entertainment, which can be said to have done enough homework in terms of localization. The car also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone interconnection as well as OTA upgrades.
The new car is equipped with the latest 2.4T turbocharged engine composed of a hybrid system, of which the engine has a maximum power of 207kW and a peak torque of 430Nm, and the front motor has a maximum power of 40kW and a peak torque of 250Nm, so that the comprehensive power of the system is 243kW, which is already considered the top level in the history of GX models, and the new car will also be equipped with this power system.
From the point of view of product power, the all-new Lexus GX is very powerful, and the price is lower than that of its peers. Therefore, according to the operation of the brand, the price increase may be inevitable and the magnitude will be very exaggerated.
