Apple recently began paying settlements to Apple users in the U.S., totaling more than $500 million, involving about three million consumers.

The settlement comes from a 2017 collective complaint from U.S. consumers, which has been described as the largest activism in global history. At that time, millions of consumers joined in, accusing Apple of deliberately slowing down the speed of older phones and causing unexpected shutdowns through system updates, so as to achieve the goal of getting consumers to buy new phones.

Of course, Apple has always denied this accusation, arguing that the slowdowns in individual phones are due to aging batteries.

Soon after, some reviewers found that the aging of the battery was a switch that the system began to limit the running speed, which was obviously a personal setting, rather than the impact of the battery itself on the phone. But this discovery is clearly not recognized by Apple.

Now that Apple has begun to pay settlers to consumers, does it mean that the accusation of controlling the speed limit of mobile phones has been tacitly acquiesced?

Although the settlement is only $92 per user, the customer experience is really good.
