In 1976, the second phase of the Yingze Street project started, and after a two-year project, the smooth road of Yingze East Street went straight to the foot of Dongshan. In 1996, the opening project of Yingjersey Avenue started, leading to the foot of the West Mountain. On the National Day in 1996, the 10-kilometer-long Yingze Street was completed after 40 years.
In 2008, 53 years after the initial construction of Yingze Street, this street ushered in the first full-line renovation and upgrade, expanding to 8 lanes. After the renovation, Yingze Street is characterized by "retro" and "elegant", with brown and bronze columns, kiosks and seats built on both sides.
In 2021, the Taiyuan Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources issued a plan for the east extension of Yingze Avenue (Shuangta North Road - Dongfeng Road), which extends Yingze Street eastward to Dongfeng Road, with a total length of about 2.54 kilometers. On November 17, 2021, the east extension of Yingze Avenue was officially opened to traffic, and the total length of Yingze Street at this time has reached 12.54 kilometers.
