Yangcheng Evening News all-media reporter Li Huankun and correspondent Li Xuan photo report: As one of the traditional Chinese long-established brands, Panxi Restaurant, adjacent to the riverside of Lizhiwan Scenic Area, is located in the Xiguan Dawu Community Building Complex, and is one of the most representative garden restaurants in Guangzhou. However, due to its age, its exterior decoration is mostly stripped of paint and worn. In April 2020, in response to the new vitality urban renewal micro-transformation project of the old town of Liwan District, under the guidance of Liwan District, Panxi Restaurant launched an upgraded micro-transformation. Recently, the first phase of the renovation was completed, and Panxi Restaurant welcomed guests with a new Lingnan style.

The first phase of the micro-renovation project mainly demolished and repaired the peripheral Lingnan buildings, and improved and supplemented the Manchurian window, the artificial mountain fish pond, the curved corridor, the Huxin Peninsula Restaurant, and the Panxi Painting Boat in the courtyard. It is worth mentioning that in the central courtyard of the restaurant, the design team reused the red sandstone originally used by Mo Bozhi, the original designer of Panxi Restaurant, and the dark red retro red sandstone was tiled on the atrium floor, recording the historical time of Panxi Restaurant for decades.

In addition to the renewal and repair of the outer wall, a large number of Lingnan traditional three sculptures (stone carving, wood carving, brick carving) and two sculptures (gray sculpture, ceramic sculpture) are also used on the top floor of the outer building, which are created by inviting the masters of lingnan crafts, and are integrated with the surrounding Xiguan House complex, which is quite representative.

At present, Panxi Restaurant is undergoing the second phase of renovation.
