The U.S. Navy's newest Burke-class destroyer finally entered service in October last year. But the strange thing is that there seems to be no news at all about the entry into service of Burke 3 in China. According to past practice, once there is any new equipment in service on the side of the US military, then many people on our side will begin to reflect. Start by acknowledging how powerful these new pieces of equipment are, and then deeply reflect on your own shortcomings.
However, as the newest and most powerful Burke 3-class destroyer in the US military, its service did not cause much sensation, but sank directly to the bottom. Why? Because even the little black fans know that the Burke 3 and 055 drive are not a level at all, and they are all backward from birth.
Of course, in terms of the number of destroyers, the US Navy is still far ahead, with a total of 73 destroyers, including 21 Burke Type 1, 7 Burke Type 2, 37 Burke Type 2A, 7 Burke 2A Technology Enhancement Type, and 1 Burke Type 3.
Don't look at the fact that the U.S. Navy has so many destroyers, but in fact, it can be called the main force from the Burke 2A, because the Berke 1 and Burke 2 classes have been in service for too long, the earliest Burke 1 was commissioned in 1991, and the latest Burke 2 was commissioned in 1999, and the average service age has reached 30 years, which is almost the retirement age. Most of the Ticonderoga-class cruisers built by the US Navy at the same time have been decommissioned, so the first two types of Burke are also coming soon.
In fact, the U.S. Navy originally planned to build 32 Zumwalt-class destroyers to replace the Burke-class, but due to technical problems, only 3 were built before it was discontinued, and the 19 next-generation cruisers CG (X) used to replace the Ticonderoga-class cruisers were also suspended, so the U.S. Navy could only choose to restart the Burke-class production line and plan to build 22 Burke-3 to replace the Ticonderoga-class cruisers.
Although the Chinese Navy has only 50 destroyers, which is a little less than the 73 destroyers of the US Navy, we are superior in quality! These 50 destroyers are four of the 956 modern class, that is, the "Four King Kongs" introduced in the 90s of the last century, and they were the destroyers with the largest tonnage in China at that time. A 051B Shenzhen ship, although the ship was commissioned in 1999, has now completed modernization.

As mentioned earlier, although the US Navy has 73 Burke-class destroyers, in addition to the first two models that are about to be decommissioned, in fact, the destroyers that can be called the main force of the US Navy are the Burke 2A and Burke 3, a total of 45. And our 052D and 055 drive have a total of 33 ships, and they are still under construction.
Although the Burke 3 of the US Navy is also under construction, it is obvious that their construction speed is not as fast as ours, and you must know that although the Burke 2A is higher than the 052D in tonnage, it does not have a dual-band radar, including the Burke 3, which means that the radar of the Burke-class destroyer will have a blind spot, and it is difficult to detect missiles flying over the sea, but the radar of our 052D and 055 big drive is no dead end, and the missiles attacking from any direction can be detected, so the difference in tonnage is not worth mentioning in front of the dual-band radar.
In fact, the biggest gap between the Chinese and US navies is not aircraft carriers, but nuclear submarines! Before there was no Fujian, the gap between us and the US aircraft carriers was very large, after all, the aircraft carriers of both sides were not products of the same era, and everyone else was on the highway, and we were still walking on dirt roads. However, with the Fujian ship, the gap between the aircraft carrier and the United States was narrowed all of a sudden, and although it did not go to the high speed, it took the fast road, and it was possible to get on the high speed with a slight turn of two turns.
For the gap in aircraft carrier technology, it will soon be able to catch up, as for the gap in quantity, it can only be made up by time, fortunately, our two shipyards can build aircraft carriers, if we go all out to start building, it will be very fast.
Nuclear submarines, to be honest, are the strong point of the US Navy, nuclear submarines are relatively hidden, even if they are built, they will go directly into the sea, and their exposure is not comparable to that of large ships such as aircraft carriers, so there is very little information about the performance and news of our nuclear submarines. At present, it is known that there are four types of nuclear submarines we have, namely attack nuclear submarines 093 and 093A, and strategic nuclear submarines 094 and 094A. As for whether the two models 095 and 096 are in service or whether they exist or not, it is unknown.
The U.S. Navy's nuclear submarines are far ahead in terms of performance and quantity, with 26 attack nuclear submarines of the Los Angeles class, 3 Seawolf classes, and 22 of the latest Virginia class, and 12 more are under construction and 4 are planned. There are 14 Ohio-class strategic nuclear submarines, 12 Columbia-class submarines under construction, and four Ohio-class cruise missile nuclear submarine ships.
At present, the only thing in the world that can compete with the nuclear submarine force of the US Navy is the Russian Navy, don't look at the Russian Navy's surface ships have not developed much in recent years, but the development of underwater forces has never stopped, so the development of nuclear submarines is very important, and we still have a long way to go.
