The medical treatment and health of the elderly is a family affair as well as a national affair. In the face of more than 280 million elderly people aged 60 and above, all parties in society are struggling to write the answer sheet for people's livelihood.
On January 9, the "Grassroots Geriatric Medical Care Journey" series of activities and health lecture hall initiated by the National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases was officially launched in Bao'an, Shenzhen.
The first stop of the event brought together 13 high-level experts from the National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (PLA General Hospital) and the Chinese Geriatrics Society, covering multiple disciplines such as cardiovascular, endocrinology, hematology and geriatrics.
The experts gave lectures, listened to department reports, carried out teaching rounds, conducted case discussions, and implemented guidance and assistance in clinical departments. In the afternoon of the same day, the expert group also joined hands with Bao'an District People's Hospital to carry out large-scale free clinic activities in the streets of the district, and nearly 100 patients came for treatment.
Subsequently, the expert group will also go to the Bao'an District Government, the district's public hospitals and the streets under its jurisdiction to carry out special lectures, large-scale free clinics, condolence visits and medical assistance activities, so as to inject new vitality into the grassroots elderly medical services in Bao'an District.
Bao'an will also take this event as an opportunity to actively plan and explore in-depth cooperation with the National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (PLA General Hospital), through clinical medical research, medical resource sharing, academic exchanges and training, etc., to jointly practice the new model and new path of elderly health services, and work together to write a new chapter of "healthy aging".
