However, in order to gain a competitive advantage, Haibawang designed and produced its own product packaging, and still used a striking font on the outer packaging of the above-mentioned 19 quick-frozen dumpling products to use "pork dumplings" as the product name, and did not remark in a conspicuous position to indicate the change of the main ingredients of the product, resulting in consumers misidentifying the ingredients of the product.
At the time of the case, Haibawang sold a total of more than 140 packages of the above-mentioned types of quick-frozen dumpling products.
In order to reduce costs and gain competitive advantages, Haibawang violated the provisions of Article 8, Paragraph 1 of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law by using the product name to falsely advertise the product characteristics. In February 2023, the Shanghai Changning District Market Supervision Bureau ordered the parties to stop the illegal acts and fined them RMB 500,000 in accordance with the provisions of Article 20, Paragraph 1 of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law.

According to media reports, in 2016, Chengdu Haibawang Food Co., Ltd. was fined 404,400 yuan by the former Chengdu Pixian Market and Quality Supervision Administration for being found to have used duck neck skin, frozen miscellaneous oil and other raw materials to produce beef balls and shrimp dumplings as raw materials such as beef and shrimp.
On March 25 of the same year, the staff of the Chongqing Municipal Food and Drug Administration conducted a random inspection of the "Haiwang" peeing beef balls produced by Chengdu Haibawang Food Co., Ltd. on March 1 sold by the Changxiang Food Business Department of Jiangbei District, and no bovine-derived ingredients were detected, but duck-derived ingredients were detected.
In 2022, the Shanghai Municipal Commission for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests purchased a batch of fish balls on an e-commerce platform and found that most of the product ingredients were "surimi" or "frozen surimi", and many fish ball products were adulterated with other meats.
