In the 90s of the last century, the Chinese Air Force chose to introduce advanced foreign fighters to accelerate the modernization of air power, after comparing the MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters, the Air Force decisively introduced the Su-27 heavy air superiority fighter, and then also introduced the Su-27 family of Su-30 fighters to strengthen the ability to attack the ground to the sea, including the Air Force version of the Su-30MKK and the Navy version of the Su-30MK2.
The two lines of the development of heavy fighters in the Chinese Air Force have been basically established: one is to complete the localization of the Su-27SK air superiority fighter as the basis, and the Air Force is equipped with a large number of heavy air superiority fighters.

At the beginning of this century, the Chinese Air Force successively introduced more than 100 Su-30 multi-role heavy fighters, the Air Force was equipped with 76 Su-30MKKs, and the naval aviation was assigned 24 Su-30MK2 heavy fighters. 100 Su-30 multi-role fighters do not meet the needs of the entire Air Force.
2. The Chinese and Indian Air Force's offensive and defensive changes are easy
The Indian Air Force has established an air force fleet of more than 260 Su-30MK and Su-30MKI heavy fighters as the core, and the first batch of 40 Su-30s was installed in the Indian Air Force in 1997.
Nearly 300 heavy fighter jets form the core of the Indian Air Force's ground strike and air supremacy operations, and these fighter squadrons are largely deployed north, with a focus on China and Pakistan.

Even after the Chinese Air Force's domestically produced third-generation heavy fighter J-11B and medium fighter J-10 began to be delivered to aviation units in large quantities around 2010, the Chinese Air Force had the capacity to consider air threats from multiple directions. During the same period, the Chinese Air Force also strengthened the construction of plateau airfields to ensure the basic conditions for the regular stationing of air force units.
Three: The Chinese army began to reequip a large number of heavy fighters
The active heavy fighters of the Chinese Air Force are divided into two series: one is the Su-27 / Su-30 family, as well as the new domestic models developed on this basis, and the other is the domestic heavy stealth fighter J-20.
The original Su-27SK and Su-27UBK are not numerous and are being retired at a speed visible to the naked eye, and the localized J-11A fighter has been in service for a long time, and there is basically no potential and need for improvement.
The Chinese Air Force is equipped with a large number of J-11B series fighters in the prime of life, most of them entered service with the Air Force and Naval Aviation after 2010, so they have become the focus of modification, and the modification of the J-11B can make the number of advanced heavy fighters of the Chinese Air Force increase rapidly.
More and more aviation brigades have been equipped with J-11B significantly improved J-11BG fighters, and a major improvement of the J-11BG is the upgrade from Doppler fire control radar to phased array radar.
