Li Zuocheng's father was a veteran of the Volunteer Army, and in the early days of the construction of New China, he followed the troops to the Korean battlefield with great pride, and in the face of extreme cold and insufficient supplies, they defeated the enemy army with strong equipment.
After the war, Li's father cared for his hometown and returned to his hometown of Huaihua, Hunan Province to live a simple peasant life.
Li Zuocheng was born in 1953, as the eldest son in the family, he was extremely talented and hardworking, and always maintained excellent results. However, the family encountered difficulties, and Li Zuocheng in junior high school reduced the burden and resolutely dropped out of school and went home to farm.
In 1970, he enlisted in the army with courage and determination, determined to protect his country. His family fully supported his decision, especially when he heard that Li Zuocheng was eager to join the barracks, his father's eyes flashed with tears, and the lost fighting years seemed to be awakened at that moment.
After entering the barracks, Li Zuocheng quickly adapted to the environment and took on new challenges. His strict discipline, resounding military songs, and sonorous slogans made him feel extremely honored.
The gloves were cocooned by frequent training, and the military uniform was soaked with sweat. Efforts always paid off, and the unit leadership noticed his excellent performance, and he was appointed squad leader and subsequently promoted to platoon commander.
After being promoted to platoon commander, there is not only glory, but also responsibility. Li Zuocheng led the whole platoon of soldiers to train hard, but due to lack of experience, the results were not satisfactory, and his heart was full of frustration.
The political commissar sensed his troubles, patiently guided him, and encouraged Li Zuocheng to overcome difficulties, believing that every excellent soldier was cultivated.
After this conversation, Li Zuocheng was deeply inspired and began to demonstrate in person, have close contact with the soldiers, and always reflect on his own shortcomings. Everyone cheered up, went hand in hand, and finally achieved excellent performance in the troop competition. Li Zuocheng was also awarded the title of "Cadre Model".
Defend your homeland and move forward
In 1979, Li Zuocheng was promoted to company commander, when the Sino-Vietnamese border self-defense counterattack war broke out, and their troops needed to go to the battlefield to defend the war. The battle was on the verge of breaking out, and his company received an important task, which was to seize Baoantun.
Although the terrain of Baoantun is dangerous, easy to defend and difficult to attack, it is a necessary place for our army to attack. After receiving instructions from his superiors, Li Zuocheng immediately organized elite soldiers and strong generals to discuss the battle plan. Throughout the battle, he boosted morale with practical actions, personally tore through barbed wire, crawled through enemy fire points, and defeated the enemy in an almost brutal manner.
Under the command of Li Zuocheng, the soldiers of the whole company were full of enthusiasm, bravely resisted, broke through the enemy's defense line again and again, and finally completed the task victoriously within the specified time. However, Li Zuocheng was seriously injured in this battle, and his comrade-in-arms Yang Xi died on the battlefield, and both of them were awarded the honorary title of "Battle Hero".
After the war, the company commanded by Li Zuocheng was awarded the collective first-class merit for its outstanding contributions. Later in his military career, he was promoted from company commander to senior positions such as army commander and commander of military districts. In 2015, Li Zuocheng served as the first army commander in the mainland, and he still sticks to the front line of national defense and military undertakings, actively dedicating.
