Transferred from the White Rock Courtyard:
Angel (sculpture), a work by American sculptor Benjamin Victor (1979—), in the collection of the National Statue Museum in Washington, D.C.
The work depicts an angel floating weightlessly on its outstretched wings. She evokes an ethereal aesthetic, as the viewer is drawn to her vibrant and graceful lines.
The romantic concept of Angel tells us about love and death, beauty and vulnerability, eternity and temporality. There is a stark contrast between the angel's young and beautiful face and his serious countenance. She is a passionate but at the same time spiritual. She is both heavenly and earthly, which shows that we are all human beings and spiritual beings.
