For the first few decades of her life, Kayleigh Donahue, an American girl, struggled with being overweight, but eventually resigned herself to reality. Miraculously, because of a coincidence, she moved to Ireland, Europe to live for a few years, but she didn't expect to lose 50 pounds before she was just 6 months old...
Kayleigh revealed that the weight loss process was very easy and he made little effort on his part, but everything was traceable.
First of all, she attributes her weight loss to "the ease of eating fresh, local food".
"After eating the best produce from Europe, the change I felt was astounding, not only is the food quality better, but the prices are also cheaper. ”
And Kayleigh noticed that the portions of European food were only half the size of the food she was Xi in the United States.
"I never realized how big the portions were in American restaurants.
Since Xi eating in Europe, I can't finish a full meal in an American restaurant, and overeating is real. ”
Kayleigh points out that eating at restaurants in Europe is more of a "social experience" where you take the time to digest the food slowly rather than gobbling it up.
In addition, Kayleigh has not only changed the way she eats, but has also significantly increased her daily exercise routine by walking and biking.
"I never thought I'd be the girl who chose to walk instead of drive, but that quickly changed when I moved to Europe.
I went from being a person who would complain about the stretch of the way to the parking lot to someone who thought it wasn't a big deal to walk 45 minutes to a shop or restaurant.
Walking has become a part of my daily routine, not only improving my physical health, but also my mental health. ”
Kayleigh says if she has to get somewhere quickly, she rides a bike instead of driving.
"The infrastructure here makes it easy to get anywhere by bike, and a lot of people bike to work, to friends' houses, to grocery stores, anywhere you can think of every day. ”
Kayleigh says that once she adapts to the European way of life, living healthily becomes effortless.
At the same time, her work-life balance in Europe has improved her physical and mental health.
So if you can't find the right way to lose weight, will it be much easier to change your city life?
