NBA official announcement of the best of the week: Shin Kyung was elected to Brunson for the first time and won the award 18 people including thick eyebrows and Irving were nominated
On January 9, Beijing time, the NBA officially announced the Player of the Week for week 11. The Knicks' Brunson was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the third time in his career and won the award for the first time this season. The Rockets' Shin Kyung was named Western Conference Player of the Week, the first time in his career that he was named Player of the Week. Shin Kyung is the youngest player in the Rockets' history to win the award (21 years, 168 days) and the first Rockets player of the week award since Harden in 2019. In addition, 18 players including thick eyebrows and Owen were nominated for the best of the week.
Eastern Conference Weekly Winners: Brunson (Knicks)
Last week, the Knicks went 4-0 and Brunson averaged 27.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field, 37.1% from three-point range and 100% from the free throw line. The Knicks officially posted a poster to congratulate Brunson on being selected as the best of the week.
Against the Timberwolves, Brunson had 16 points, 4 rebounds and 14 assists, a career-high assist. Against the Bulls, Brunson had 31 points, 3 rebounds and 13 assists. Against the 76ers, Brunson contributed 29 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Against the Wizards, Brunson scored 33 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists.
So far this season, Brunson has played in 36 games for the Knicks, averaging 26 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game, shooting 47.2% from the field, 43.5% from three-point range and 83.1% from the free throw line. The Knicks are 21-15 and fifth in the East.
Western Conference of the Week: Shin Kyung (Rockets)
Last week, the Rockets went 3-1, and Shin Kyung averaged 24 points, 7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game, shooting 51.5% from the field and 81.3% from the free throw line. The official poster of the rocket congratulated Shen Jing on being elected the best of the week.
Against the Pistons, Shen Jing had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals, against the Nets, Shen Jing had 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 steal, against the Timberwolves, Shen Jing had 19 points and 5 rebounds, and against the Bucks, Shen Jing had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.
