The exhibition of Tongji intangible cultural heritage research and training achievements was opened, and the integration of lacquer art into contemporary life became a highlight

A few days ago, the 14th "Lacquer Art Innovation Design" seminar of Tongji University was successfully completed. At the same time, the exhibition of intangible cultural heritage research and training works also officially kicked off.

This intangible cultural heritage workshop focuses on lacquer art, highlighting innovation and focusing on design. The 20 trainees are mainly from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei and Shanghai, and are involved in many national intangible cultural heritage projects such as Huizhou lacquerware decoration skills, gold and silver fine work, Jiading bamboo carving, Suzhou jade carving, Quyang stone carving, etc. This seminar takes lacquer art as the core, combines wood carving, bamboo carving, jade carving, metal forging, pottery and firing and other projects across borders, and focuses on the innovative design of lacquer art products.

This intangible cultural heritage research and training course is not only the 14th session of Tongji University, but also the 100th session held in Shanghai, which is an important time node for Shanghai's intangible cultural heritage research and training, which has special significance and has achieved fruitful results.

It is understood that the exhibition of intangible cultural heritage research and training works of Tongji University held at the same time takes "24 Sections • 24 Instruments" as the creative theme, relying on the advantages of the School of Design and Innovation's own disciplines, and specially organizes relevant design tutor groups to conduct innovative design guidance, through systematic design teaching and practice, so that inheritors can understand the whole process of innovative design, enhance the inheritors' awareness of innovative design, and finally present this wonderful intangible cultural heritage special exhibition.

At the same time, the creation of works is also a teaching process that combines learning Xi and practice, which will help the inheritors of lacquer art to make continuous breakthroughs in product innovation and design capabilities in the future, and better integrate lacquer art products into contemporary life.
