In the play, Sister Jiang's steady, deep, strong and unyielding character and sincere party spirit have touched many audiences, and the spiritual outlook of the whole country has been refreshed again with the spread of "Sister Jiang's spirit".

In this way, Yan Su, who consolidated the firm belief of the people of the whole country, also became famous for a while with the sensation of his work "Sister Jiang", and Chairman Mao personally received him.

Later, Yan Su's body irretrievably went downhill, and in the last time of his life, Yan Su's son Yan Yu wrote his father's life experience into the book "Yan Su's Life", which introduced in detail what Yan Su had seen and heard in the army for 63 years, as well as Yan Su's life experience and inner feelings for more than 80 years.
On February 12, 2016, Yan Su, a general at the theater level, died of illness.
