
Kimo Hut stood alone on a hill outside. Gondaghe in the countryside of New South Wales. This is the newly added Kimo Village, a second-generation farm that has diversified to host weddings and provide accommodation showcasing the natural beauty of the area. Literally, it's a place to shut down and forget the distractions of modern life.

Sustainable Australian hardwood is the obvious choice, given the ecological's short and remote location of the shacks. The materials need to be easily obtained and disposed of on site by a team of two owners-builders.
The shack form is inspired by a classic 'A' frame tent that simultaneously provides an escape from the natural environment and a connection with the natural environment. An expressed hardwood structure anchors the building, defining a framed view of the interior space and surrounding farmland. The whole shed has the characteristics of wood, and the handmade details are reminiscent of the characteristics of agricultural architecture found on the house.
