Whampoa School can be described as the cradle of famous generals, especially the first phase of Whampoa, which represents the highest level of Whampoa Military Academy, after all, the first phase is the eldest son.
Probably because of this, the first phase of Whampoa not only has a lot of interesting things, but also has many Whampoa first phase students, and they are related to each other, let's take stock of four of them.

The richest uncles and nephews: Pan Youqiang and Pan Deli.
These two are Hunan candidates, although Pan Youqiang is one year younger than Pan Deli, but in terms of seniority, he is Pan Deli's uncle. Let's talk about Pan Youqiang first, this guy can be described as the "research maniac" in Whampoa.
After graduating from the first phase of Whampoa, he went to Japan again in 1927 and was admitted to the Japanese Army University. After graduating and returning to China three years later, he became the backbone of Chiang Kai-shek and one of the founders of the so-called Fuxing Society. And this Fuxing Society is also known as the Blue Coat Society, and the original scoop handle is He Jinhan, one of the three heroes of Huangpu.
It's a pity that He Zhenhan smashed it later, but instead fulfilled Kangze in the third phase of Huangpu. So much so that before Chiang Ching-kuo's return, Kang Ze once had the "status of a prince".
I am afraid that it is precisely because the rivers and lakes of the Fuxing Society are too deep and do not match Pan Youqiang's interests, so he gradually broke away, and then went to engage in education and military training, and later accidentally became a lieutenant general, and in 1944, he led the Air Force Cadet Brigade to the United States to study Xi......
Huang Wei and Qiu Qingquan have two diplomas from Whampoa and Germany, Liao Yaoxiang has two diplomas from Whampoa and France, and Pan Youqiang has three diplomas from Whampoa, Japan and Da Laomei. It was precisely because he had the experience of studying Xi in the United States that Pan Youqiang settled in the United States without pressure after the defeat of the national army on the mainland, and finally died of illness in 1977.
Compared with his uncle Pan Youqiang, Pan Deli's experience is much more prosaic, just a Whampoa diploma, the military rank is a major general, and finally settled in Changsha. But no matter what, at least the uncle and nephew survived, and there was a lieutenant general and a major general, which properly belonged to the rich uncle and nephew in the first phase of Huangpu's life.
The most capable cousins: Li Yutang and Li Yannian.
The so-called Shandong Sanli, Li Yutang, Li Yannian and Li Xianzhou. Li Yutang is three years older than Li Yannian. was admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy together, and they were all assigned to the second team of the first phase.
In terms of fame and ability, Li Yutang wants to crush Li Yannian. brought out the famous Taishan Army, helped Xue Yue win the Battle of Changsha, and took away three Flying Tiger Flags in one fell swoop. For a time, the prestige of Li Yutang and the Taishan Army reached its peak, and it was even more dazzling than the 74th Division of Wang Yaowu, the head of the five trump cards.
However, with Li Yutang's ascension, the Taishan Army, which is also the Tenth Army, was handed over to another famous Huangpu general, Fang Xianjue, who was the third phase of Huangpu, at the same time as Wang Yaowu. It is a pity that in the defense of Hengyang, Fang Xianjue led the Tenth Army, although it fought fiercely and tenaciously, but it finally lost - and also surrendered to the Japanese invaders.
Whatever the unavoidable reason, this made Chiang Kai-shek furious, so he withdrew the Flying Tiger Banner, and since then the Taishan Army has been in decline, making the reorganized 74th Division the first of the five main forces of the National Army. Li Yutang was also abandoned, and later in the Battle of Yanzhou, he was hammered by Xu Shiyou and shot by Chiang Kai-shek in 1951.
Li Yannian's most famous thing is that on the Huaihai battlefield, he became the background cloth of General Su Yu together with Liu Ruming. Fortunately, both of them are good at running, and they eventually ran to Taiwan. But Li Yannian was almost shot by Chiang Kai-shek, and after a year in prison, he was released, living in seclusion in the suburbs of Taipei, depressed, destitute, and died in 1974.
The so-called more can fight, the more miserable it is, Li Yutang and Li Yannian are both tiger generals, and they are both famous anti-Japanese generals, but the ending is really regrettable, especially Li Yutang.
The most outstanding cousins: Du Yuxin and Du Yuming.
In addition to Li Yutang and Li Yannian being cousins, there is also a pair of cousins in the first phase of Huangpu's life, which is Du Yuxin and Du Yuming - Du Yuxin is the elder brother and Du Yuming is the younger brother.
In the first phase of Huangpu's life, these two brothers are also fierce generals who can fight. It's just that in the early days, Du Yuxin wanted to crush Du Yuming, and became a company commander during the Northern Expedition, but he died in the Battle of Longtan at the age of 23.
In other words, if Du Yuxin can survive, I am afraid that Du Yuming will always be a "younger brother". It is precisely because of Du Yuxin's sacrifice that Du Yuming later became a standout, because Du Yuming is too famous, there is no need for too much introduction by the author, so let's only say two very interesting things about Du Yuming.
One is that during the period of the Whampoa Military Academy, Whampoa students were free to choose to join the Communist Party or the Kuomintang. Du Yuming was stunned after receiving the form, he was not interested in these things, and he didn't understand what was going on. So I guessed from the literal meaning.
This "communism" must be "everyone who has money to spend together." How can this be? My family has a house and a land -- Du Yuming's family belongs to the landlord, and his father has a very good relationship with Yu Youren, a veteran of the Kuomintang, and it was Yu Youren who recommended Du Yuming's brothers to enter Whampoa. So Du Yuming chose to join the Kuomintang.
The second is that when Du Yuming chose to join the Kuomintang, his wife Cao Xiuqing was solemnly swearing to the party flag in her hometown - to join the Communist Party.
At the same time, Du Yuming had a younger brother named Du Yude, who resolutely joined the Communist Party in 1927, but unfortunately a year later, in 1928, Du Yude died.
Also, Du Yuming also has an uncle named Du Bincheng, who is a famous patriot and one of the early leaders of the Democratic League. He had considerable influence in Shaanxi, and was arrested and killed by Hu Zongnan for his staunch opposition to Chiang Kai-shek's civil war.
After learning that Du Bincheng was killed, Chairman Mao personally wrote an elegy: Die for the people, although he is still alive. Premier Zhou praised him as "a Lu Xun-style Communist Party member"
Therefore, don't look at Du Yuming's standout, the so-called three major battles, one person commanded two. Why was he treated so favorably after being captured? Not only did he have a powerful son-in-law, but his family's contribution was also quite huge.
The most unexpected Uncle Lang: Wang Erzhuo and Zheng Dongguo.
It is known that Zheng Dongguo was not only born in the first phase of Huangpu, but also a famous anti-Japanese general, and finally defeated Changchun and was forced to surrender. But who is his brother-in-law? It is none other than Wang Erzhuo, an outstanding general of our Red Army, who graduated from the first phase of Whampoa.
Wang Erzhuo's wife is called Zheng Fengcui, and she is Zheng Dongguo's cousin. After only three months of marriage, Wang Erzhuo chose to apply for the Whampoa Military Academy. It's just that this pair of Uncle Lang, one chose the Kuomintang and the other chose the Communist Party.
It is known that during the Liberation War, the "101" who commanded a million-strong army out of the customs was Wang Erzhuo's men, so much so that many people said that if Wang Erzhuo did not sacrifice, then he would definitely be among the top ten marshals of New China.
Because during the Red Army period, Wang Erzhuo can be called the first general of the Red Army. After Wang Erzhuo's sacrifice, Zhu De once said: Our army has lost a capable general.
And Chairman Mao mentioned him many times, and at Wang Erzhuo's memorial service, drafted by Chairman Mao, Chen Yi wrote an elegiac couplet: One cry Erzhuo, two cry Erzhuo, Erzhuo is now gone, who will bear the heavy responsibility left behind?
