"The rolling Yangtze River is passing away, and the waves are sweeping away the heroes. The green mountains are still there, and the sunset is red several times. On the white-haired fisherman river, accustomed to watching the autumn moon and spring breeze. A pot of turbid wine is happy to meet; many things in ancient and modern times are laughed and discussed. ”
"Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is the work of the early Ming Dynasty writer Luo Guanzhong, who took the period of the Three Kingdoms in the late Han Dynasty as the background, and exaggerated the disputes between Wei, Shu, Wu and other forces into a heart-wrenching story.
This book portrays countless clear-faced, flesh-and-blood heroes who fought bravely until their deaths. Putting such a story and such a song together, it is as good as a song and a harmony in the Bo Yazi period.

In the CCTV version of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" TV series, this word was adapted into a song and played as the theme song at the beginning of each episode. It can be said that this poem has been tightly tied to "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Perhaps many people think that this poem was written by Luo Guanzhong himself, but this is not the case.
Luo Guanzhong was born in 1330 A.D. and died in 1400 A.D. He witnessed the rise and fall of countless heroes in his life before writing such a spectacular story as "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".
The author of this poem was born in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, nearly a century later than Luo Guanzhong.
Yang Shen was born in 1488 and died in 1559.
He lived in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, the Ming Dynasty was calm and happy, and there was neither a usurper prince on the side of the Qing monarch, nor a hero who rose up, but he only wrote such magnificent words with rich imagination and delicate empathy.
Born in peace and prosperity
Yang Shen, a native of Xindu, Sichuan, is the head of the three talents of the Ming Dynasty and a well-deserved first genius of the Ming Dynasty. His father, Yang Tinghe, was a political reformer in the Ming Dynasty and a young genius.
At the age of nineteen, Yang Tinghe was admitted to the Jinshi, and the official worshiped the Dongge University Scholar. Later, he was promoted to the crown prince and eventually became the first assistant to the cabinet.
As we all know, the cabinet chief assistant was equivalent to the prime minister in the Ming Dynasty. In other words, Yang Shen was born as a second-generation official, not only did he have no worries about food and clothing, but the uncles and guests who came and went at home were also powerful Confucians.
With such a father and family, Yang Shen's talent is destined not to be mediocre.
In 1511, Yang Shen, who was only twenty-three years old, won the top prize in the examination, and was subsequently awarded the title of editor of the Hanlin Academy by the then Ming Wuzong.
At that time, he was a teenager and heroic, thinking that this was just the beginning of his political career. How can he know that the world is impermanent, the most important thing is to file people's hearts, no matter whether you are the prime minister's son or a genius boy, no matter who you are, you can't escape the ups and downs of fate.
In the third year of Jiajing, Yang Shen angered Ming Shizong because of his inappropriate admonitions, and was dismissed after being reprimanded by the cane. The emperor wanted to be out of sight, so he transferred him out of Beijing and transferred him to Yongchangwei, Yunnan.
Yang Shen has been clothed and fed since he was born, and the things he uses are extremely expensive, and this time he was suddenly transferred away from the rich and gentle Jingshi, and took root in Yongchangwei, who was too lazy to grow in the weeds. Anyone who hears such a thing will worry for him.
Yang Shen himself has become the one who wants to open the most. With the help of this transfer, he stopped and traveled all the way. When he saw the interesting folk customs, he stopped to experience them. When he met a talented local scholar, he also had to stop and talk to people about a few teas.
After some travel, he not only accumulated a large number of moving poems, but also felt that his mind was a lot broader, and many different insights also surged out of his heart.
This song "Linjiang Immortal" was inspired by his travels.
Success or failure is empty
It is rumored that Yang Shen was on his way back and forth between Yunnan and Sichuan when he saw two old men playing chess by the river.
It was dusk, and the setting sun cast a red glow on the water. The surging red river flows eastward, as if this place is the site of an ancient battlefield.
The two old men were unmoved by this, and they concentrated on fighting between square inches.
Yang Shen stood quietly and watched for a long time, combined with this situation, thinking back to the first half of his life and the situation at this moment, he had an epiphany on the spot, and wrote this eternal quatrain that amazed the world.
"Success or failure turns his head into nothing", he once thought he was a straightforward and upright official, but he was easily dismissed because his words did not conform to the intention of the pilgrimage. The reputation of the once genius and champion has come to naught.
"The green mountains are still there, and the sunset is red several times" After this catastrophe, he thought that the sky was about to fall, but he didn't expect to see so many folk beauties on the road. These beautiful scenery and interesting people have always been here, whether he is a high-ranking official or a poor person who has been degraded, they all exist objectively.
"How many things in ancient and modern times are laughing and talking. Seeing this situation, those troubles, those painful pasts that used to weigh on my heart like a big stone suddenly seemed to be less important. They are no longer scars that hurt when touched, but old things that can be taken out to laugh at.
After that, Yang Shen's mood suddenly brightened up, and he began to settle for the border in Yunnan. He traveled back and forth between Sichuan and Yunnan many times, collecting beautiful scenery and writing articles. As a local official, he was also involved in quelling the fighting on the local border.
When he was in office in Yunnan, Jiajing granted amnesty to the world several times and recalled many degraded officials back to Beijing, but Yang Shen was always not among them, which shows that the emperor still hated his outspokenness back then. However, Yang Shen, who made the emperor hate his teeth, was as happy as an old fairy.
He spent 30 years in Yunnan, read a wide range of books, and wrote countless poems, lyrics and songs. His literary works cover a wide range of topics, including subsets of classics and history, as well as astronomy and geography, religion, music, and drama, and even gold and stone calligraphy and painting, as well as folk customs.
Later generations commented that his poems have the style of the late Tang Dynasty and have a unique and beautiful temperament, which is really wonderful.
In the thirty-eighth year of Jiajing, the seventy-two-year-old Yang Shen died in Yunnan. He spent a tortuous and beautiful life, and finally passed away without regrets, leaving a large literary legacy to posterity. And he deserves these good things.
