Running in the romantic "sea of pineapples" and experiencing "pineapple freedom" on the spot, runners are about to start a special marathon journey. On January 5, the 2024 Xuwen Marathon held a press conference to introduce the highlights and preparations of the event. It is reported that the event will be held in Xuwen County, Zhanjiang on January 14, with a total of 5,000 participants.

Run in the colorful countryside
The 2024 Xuwen Marathon is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. on January 14 (Sunday) at the pineapple trading market in Qujie Town, hosted by the People's Government of Xuwen County, and jointly organized by the Xuwen County Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau and the People's Government of Qujie Town.

The event adopts a one-shot run, with three events: marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.0975 km), and health run (about 9 km), of which the number of participants in the marathon is 2,000, the half marathon is 2,000, and the health run is 1,000, with a total of 5,000 participants.
Li Xumin, deputy county magistrate of Xuwen County, introduced that the starting point of the event is set in the pineapple trading market in Qujie Town, the end point of the marathon and health run is set at the sea viewing platform of pineapple, and the end point of the half marathon project is set in the pineapple trading market. The race course is in the "Sea of Pineapples" scenic area, and the scenery along the track is unique. In the endless "sea of pineapples", the rolling colorful countryside, and the huge white windmill slowly unfold, and the poetry and the distance are in front of you. There are also unique intangible cultural heritage performances along the way, showing the sparks of the collision between marine civilization and agricultural civilization.

The event prepared a "pineapple gift bag" for each contestant, which included 5 gifts, namely a pineapple finisher medal, a golden pineapple rice, a porridge with preserved eggs and lean pork, a pineapple delicacy, and a Xu Wen pineapple, to show Xu Wen's unique charm.
Runners will enjoy running in the "sea of pineapples".
Contestants will also enjoy benefits such as preferential housing, free shuttle service from Zhanjiang West High-speed Railway Station to Xuwen County, and more. The organizing committee also set up a medical assistant volunteer every 100 meters of the course to help runners finish the race safely.
Huang Kaikuan, director of the Xuwen County Bureau of Culture, Radio, Tourism and Sports, introduced that during the event, the county's unique tourism resources and cultural landscape will be displayed through carefully prepared pineapple banquet festivals, event experiences, pastoral cultural tourism and sightseeing activities, so that runners and foreign tourists can truly feel the vibrant Xuwen ecology.

Lin Jia, general manager of Guangzhou Kuanyang Sports Industry Co., Ltd., the operating unit of the event, introduced that the design of the medals of this event is ingenious, and the overall design is inspired by the "sea of pineapples". The overall color palette is bright and stylish, highlighting the tropical atmosphere. The shape of the medal and the lanyard pattern are combined into a pineapple shape, and the main content is taken from the colorful fields and windmills of the "sea of pineapples".
