In June 1977, Huai'an Sports School once again recommended Sun Fengwu to Jiangsu Provincial Sports School for trial training. In the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Sun Fengwu played in 7 games, playing an average of 23.4 minutes, averaging 4.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game, helping the Chinese men's basketball team win the 11th place.
