Laojun Mountain, formerly known as Jingmuro Mountain, is located three thousand meters southeast of Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, China, and is the main peak of the 800-mile Funiu Mountains, with an altitude of 2,217 meters. It is known as "the unparalleled holy realm in the world, the world's first immortal mountain".

Laojun Mountain has a humanistic history of more than 2,000 years and is the longest mountain range in Taoism. In the Spring and Autumn Period, Lao Tzu Li Er, who is recognized as the ancestor of Taoism, came here to retreat and cultivate, making it the "source of the Tao" and the "ancestral court". The Northern Wei Dynasty began to build the Laojun Temple on it to commemorate, in the eleventh year of Zhenguan (637), Tang Taizong rebuilt the Laojun Temple on the iron top of Jingmur Mountain, and gave the name "Laojun Mountain", becoming the mainstream of Taoism Quanzhen Holy Land. In the thirty-first year of Wanli (1603), Mingshenzong edicted Laojun Mountain as "the famous mountain in the world", and built a palace with gold, becoming the only Chinese mountain range in history that was named "the famous mountain in the world" by the emperor.
The Laojun Mountain Scenic Area includes six areas and has 179 scenic spots, including 16 temples such as Taiqing Palace, Shifang Courtyard, Lingguan Palace, Vinegar Palace, Shepherd's Circle, Relief Palace, Transmission Building, Guanyin Palace, Sanqing Palace, Laojun Temple and so on. In addition, there are more than 3,000 acres of stone forest landscape on the south side of the Horsehair Mountains, which is called "Northern Stone Forest" by geologists.
Laojun Mountain is now a global geopark, a national AAAAA tourist attraction, a national geopark, a national nature reserve, a provincial key cultural relics protection unit, and a provincial scenic spot. It is a holy place for Taoist believers in northern China, and it is also an outstanding representative of the landscape culture of the Central Plains.
Laojun Mountain also has some special scenic spots, such as Laozi Cultural Garden, which is a holy place to inherit and carry forward Laozi's thoughts, using the architectural style of the Han Dynasty, and the theme idea is "the road travels the world, and the harmonious rejuvenation of China". In addition, the bronze statue of Lao Tzu in Laojun Mountain was included in the Guinness Book of the Great World in 2014 as "the highest bronze statue of Lao Tzu in the Guinness Book of the Great World". Jinding Taoist view group is an important building complex of Laojun Mountain, including Laojun Temple, Daode Mansion, Wumu Golden Palace, Liangbaotai, Jade Emperor Roof, etc., all adopt the Ming and Qing Dynasty royal palace building forms, among which the Golden Palace, Liangbaotai, Jade Emperor Peak three golden domes are particularly spectacular. Taiqing Temple is another important temple of Laojun Mountain, which was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty and rebuilt in successive dynasties, and is one of the Taoist holy places in the Central Plains.
Laojun Mountain is also rich in natural resources, there are 102 species of nationally protected animals and plants in the reserve, and 830 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines are used for the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine, so it is known as the national gene bank of Chinese herbal medicine.
Laojun Mountain is famous for its long history, magnificent natural landscapes and rich cultural connotations, and has become a holy place for many tourists and believers.
