On December 31, the second day of the New Year's Day holiday, at the construction site of the Liangshuijing double-line bridge of Chongqing (Chongqing) Wan (Wanzhou) High-speed Railway, Lianghuikou Community, Mingshan Street, Fengdu County, workers of China Railway 17th Bureau were working overtime to catch up with the progress of the project.
The Chongqing (Chongqing) Wan (Wanzhou) high-speed railway is an important part of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River in the medium and long-term planning of the mainland railway network, and is the main passenger express channel connecting the Central Plains and East China in southwest China.
With a total investment of about 52.7 billion yuan, a design speed of 350 km/h and a total length of 252 kilometers, the project started construction on November 9, 2020 and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025.
After the project is put into operation, the travel time from the main city of Chongqing to Wanzhou will be shortened from the current one and a half hours to about 50 minutes, which is of great significance for promoting the linkage development of the "Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
