The transportation department has strengthened passenger flow monitoring, provided transportation capacity support, and facilitated transfer to ensure the smooth return of passengers.
On January 1, 2024, the national railway is expected to send 16 million passengers, and 787 additional trains are planned. On December 31, 2023, the passenger flow of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway hit a new high in the 17 years of operation, and passenger trains will continue to be opened on January 1, 2024. The Beijing area has increased its capacity in Beijing, Shanghai, Beijing-Guangzhou and other directions. The Shenyang Bureau of the National Railway focuses on adding a high-speed railway connecting the Changbai Mountain Scenic Area to facilitate the return of ski passengers.
On January 1, 2024, the national civil aviation is expected to send 1.8 million passengers, an increase of 9.1% month-on-month, and the peak trend of return is obvious.
In terms of highways, it is expected that there will be a peak of return trips around 16:00-19:00 on January 1, 2024. The Hebei section of the Beijing-Harbin Expressway, the Jiangsu section of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, the Guangzhou section of the Shenhai Expressway, and the Chongqing section of the Lanhai Expressway are concentrated, reminding drivers to travel off-peak.
